The MVME4100's computing power comes from the MPC8548E PowerPC with an e500 core and a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. The MPC8548E CPU has 32/32 KB L1 and 512 KB L2 caches. The MVME4100 is equipped with 2 GB of ECC DDR2-533 RAM and offers four 10/100/1000BaseTX Gigabit Ethernet interfaces. 128 MB flash memory is available for applications and operating systems. In addition, an additional 2 GB of user flash memory is available.
The card provides PMC slots for two 33/66/100 MHz PMC modules. To connect modern peripherals, the board has one USB 2.0 port and five RS232 ports. With the XMCspan expansion card, up to four additional PMC slots can be expanded. The MVME4100 is equipped with an IEEE fixture and a VMEbus ladder fixture.
Board-level support packages are available for LINUX and VxWorks.
The MVME4100 can be used in combination with the conversion module MVME7216E-101, which allows the expansion of two additional Gigabit Ethernet and four RS232 interfaces.
